Travel for Free!
DC Streetcar provides free trips every day from Union Station to Oklahoma Avenue along H Street NE and Benning Road, making it a cost-friendly option for transporting your family. Explore some of your favorite destinations along the corridor without breaking the bank.
Family and Group Style Seating
DC Streetcar offers family and group style seating so that your family can stay together during your trip through the H St./Benning corridor. Some of our seating areas on the streetcar can seat up to a family of 4 across from each other! You can keep your children close by, while you chat, connect, and enjoy the ride.
Accessibility and Stroller Space
DC Streetcar is committed to providing reliable and accessible service to all. We readily welcome families traveling with children in strollers, senior citizens, and people with disabilities on our streetcars, which have accessibility features that help make it easier. No need to struggle with lifting your stroller up, our center doors are level with the platforms for wheelchair accessibility and easy, direct boarding for those families traveling with little ones and strollers.
Furry Friends are welcome
Here at DC Streetcar, we know your furry friends are an extension of your family. Pets are allowed to board DC Streetcar and must be contained in a crate or container specifically manufactured for the safe transport of animals for the entire duration of the trip. All service animals are allowed on DC Streetcar without a crate or container.
Bring Your Bike Aboard
Is your family seeing the city on wheels? Riders are welcome to bring their bike aboard DC Streetcar. Use the center doors, located on our level platforms to easily roll the bike on the streetcar. There are no internal or external bike racks, so please hold bikes upright while on board the streetcar.
***Please note, while bikes are allowed on DC Streetcar, riders should never ride across the DC Streetcar tracks or on the H St./ Benning corridor. Use designated bike lanes on G and I street to bike safe.
Family-friendly Destinations
There are many places along the H St./Benning Corridor for the family to visit. DC Streetcar can take you to your favorite restaurant for a meal the whole family can enjoy, or to Fields at RFK for a family soccer tournament. The options are limitless!
